After strolling down the romantic cobblestones of the Champs-Elysees and window-shopping our way through store after luxury store, we found ourselves lusting over the feeling of the coveted designer experience. We longed to be treated the way those women were—the ones who waltzed into a boutique and casually sipped complimentary champagne as they confidently browsed through the selection of high-end accessories. “La bonne vie,” we thought to ourselves, admittedly a bit jealous. It seemed as though there was a certain price tag attached to the good life, and that didn’t sit right with us. Between bites of fresh French baguettes, we got to thinking… why is this luxurious experience only reserved for people who can afford to spend all that money on designer items?
